El SOP es un problema muy com\u00fan. Se ha estimado que 1 de cada 10 mujeres (aproximadamente 10% de mujeres) en edad f\u00e9rtil se ve afectada.<\/p>\n<p>Se ha sugerido que el principal factor que contribuye al s\u00edndrome de ovario poliqu\u00edstico y sus s\u00edntomas es la resistencia a la insulina. Las personas que son resistentes a la insulina tienen un transporte ineficaz de la glucosa desde la sangre hasta las c\u00e9lulas y los m\u00fasculos, donde la glucosa se utiliza como energ\u00eda. En cambio, se acumula en la sangre, lo que hace que el cuerpo produzca niveles cada vez m\u00e1s altos de insulina en un intento por reducir el nivel de glucosa acumulada. La mayor\u00eda de las mujeres con SOP podr\u00e1n lograr y llevar un embarazo a t\u00e9rmino con el uso de tratamientos de fertilidad.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, es importante que el programa de tratamiento de fertilidad de una mujer con SOP sea planificado con mucho cuidado por un especialista en FIV.
