Toda mujer nace con un n\u00famero finito de fol\u00edculos ov\u00e1ricos y mientras que un n\u00famero muy peque\u00f1o de estos fol\u00edculos logra convertirse en un \u00f3vulo maduro, la mayor\u00eda del resto de los fol\u00edculos nunca llegan a ovular y se eliminan con cada ciclo menstrual. Alrededor de los 37 a\u00f1os, la disminuci\u00f3n de las reservas ov\u00e1ricas se vuelve muy pronunciada.<\/p>\n<p>A medida que una mujer envejece, la disminuci\u00f3n de las reservas ov\u00e1ricas no es el \u00fanico problema al que se enfrenta la fertilidad. A medida que envejece, tambi\u00e9n lo hacen los fol\u00edculos en los ovarios. Por lo tanto, otro problema llamado \u201cenvejecimiento de los ovocitos\u201d se vuelve m\u00e1s pronunciado. Por lo tanto, la evaluaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica previa a la implantaci\u00f3n es una buena idea para asegurarse de que solo los embriones gen\u00e9ticamente correctos se transfieran al \u00fatero.
