A partir de la pubertad, estas reservas comienzan a disminuir cada mes con el ciclo menstrual. Alrededor de los 37 a\u00f1os, la cantidad de fol\u00edculos (quistes que contienen los \u00f3vulos) se reduce a menos del uno por ciento de lo que era al nacer. Por lo tanto, las reservas ov\u00e1ricas habr\u00e1n disminuido a niveles muy bajos cuando la mujer cumpla 40 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n<p>2- Al igual que cualquier otra c\u00e9lula de nuestro cuerpo, los \u00f3vulos tambi\u00e9n envejecen. El ovocito (\u00f3vulo) que envejece est\u00e1 asociado con varios problemas que incluyen disfunciones mitocondriales, aneuploid\u00eda y cambios epigen\u00e9ticos. Las mitocondrias son la fuente de energ\u00eda de cualquier c\u00e9lula. Cualquier disfunci\u00f3n en las mitocondrias afectar\u00e1 la energ\u00eda y el desarrollo celular. El banco de embriones se refiere a someterse a varios ciclos de FIV con una transferencia de embriones programada al final del \u00faltimo ciclo. Por ejemplo, una paciente puede tener un ciclo de FIV en el que recolectamos sus \u00f3vulos, los fertilizamos con la muestra de esperma de la pareja y congelamos los embriones resultantes. Una vez que la paciente pasa por un segundo ciclo, repetimos el mismo proceso y obtenemos m\u00e1s embriones.
