Einige Kliniken haben ein Mindestalter f\u00fcr die Aufnahme von Patienten in ihr IVF-Programm. W\u00e4hrend das Alter von einem IVF-Programm zum anderen variieren kann, haben die meisten europ\u00e4ischen Kliniken eine Altersgrenze zwischen 43 und 47 Jahren. Es gibt zwei Hauptgr\u00fcnde f\u00fcr die Festlegung eines Mindestalters.<\/p>\n

1- Jede Frau wird mit einem bestimmten Satz an Eierstockreserven geboren und ab der Pubert\u00e4t gehen w\u00e4hrend eines Menstruationszyklus Hunderte potenzieller Eizellen verloren. Die Reserven nehmen mit zunehmendem Alter der Frau immer weiter ab und ersch\u00f6pfen sich schlie\u00dflich, sobald die Frau die Wechseljahre erreicht. Die Eierstockfunktion sinkt im Alter von 35 Jahren tendenziell unter 20-25% ihrer Ausgangswerte, und jenseits des 40. Lebensjahres ist die Wahrscheinlichkeit einer Schwangerschaft mit eigenen Eizellen sehr gering. Durch die Festlegung eines Mindestalters f\u00fcr eine IVF-Behandlung, bei der die Patientin ihre eigenen Eizellen verwendet, wird ein sehr hohes Risiko eines negativen Behandlungsergebnisses und einer Entt\u00e4uschung vermieden.<\/p>\n

2- Ein Mindestalter bedeutet, dass keine Patienten aufgenommen werden, die wahrscheinlich keinen Erfolg haben, was bedeutet, dass die Fruchtbarkeitsklinik ihre Erfolgsquoten hoch halten kann.<\/p>\n

Ob wir damit einverstanden sind oder nicht, ist nicht der entscheidende Punkt. Der wichtigste Punkt ist: Sollte es ein Mindestalter f\u00fcr den Versuch mit eigenen Eizellen geben? Die Antwort ist nicht so einfach. Patienten sind m\u00f6glicherweise noch nicht bereit, auf ihre Eizellen zu verzichten, unabh\u00e4ngig davon, was die Statistiken aussagen. Wenn eine 1%-Chance besteht, bedeutet dies, dass eine von 100 Frauen mit der Behandlung Erfolg haben wird. W\u00e4hrend 99 andere leider nicht so viel Gl\u00fcck haben werden.<\/p>\n
